The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru comes across quite closed on the nose. It is well defined but very tight, just a touch of reduction that bottle age should address. The palate is well balanced with a sappy, saline entry. Good intensity here, fresh and citrusy with orange rind notes surfacing towards the finish. Very fine. Give it another couple of years however.

(Domaine Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet "Les Chenevottes" 1er Cru White) This is aromatically quite similar to the Vergers though on the palate there is a bit more refinement to the sleek, delineated and intense and lightly mineral-driven flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract, all wrapped in a tension filled and overtly saline finish. Lovely. (Drink starting 2026)
